Worry Free Motoring from Motability

Motability is the UK’s leading car scheme helping disabled people become more mobile. It is a registered UK charity providing affordable, convenient and worry-free motoring to over 530,000 disabled customers and their families.



The Motability scheme offers disabled people who receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component (HRMC) of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioner’s Mobility Supplement (WPMS) a brand new car every 3 years. This includes insurance, personal accident cover, aftersales servicing and maintenance, full RAC breakdown assistance, 60000 mileage allowance and free tyre replacement.

John Mulholland Motors are accredited suppliers of Ford, Skoda and Hyundai vehicles for Motability in Northern Ireland and have undergone regular checks since accreditation to ensure that the high standards of Motability are met.


Eligibility for the Scheme
To qualify for a Motability car you, or a child in your care, must be receiving the HRMC of the Disability Living Allowance or the WPMS, which you then transfer to pay for the monthly cost of the new car. No further assessments or credit checks are required. You do not have to be a driver to qualify – you can obtain a car as a passenger and nominate up to two other people as the drivers.


Adaptions
Many popular adaptation such as push-pull hand controls and left-foot accelerators are now included within the Motability scheme at no extra cost. Option to Trade-In Your Old Car
You can use the value of your privately owned car to help finance the advance payment of your new Motabilty car.
